5 Warning Signs that You Might Have a Heart Problem

Although heart diseases are very dangerous, most of them have unclear signs. This is why a lot of people find out that they have a problem with their hearts after the symptoms have manifested. Patients usually think that they are having a digestion problem or an unexplained pain, only to find that they have a serious heart condition.

Here are 5 early warning signs that show that you might have a heart problem. If you feel any of these symptoms, then it is probably time you set an appointment with your doctor.

  1. Chest Heaviness:

If you usually feel that your chest is heavy especially after a physical activity, then you might have a blocked artery. A lot of people feel some sort of heaviness that wouldn’t go away even after periods of rest. This could be a sign that there is something wrong with your heart. It is OK to feel a little bit uncomfortable or out of breath after exercising or carrying a heavy a load. But if you experience sharp repetitive pain or have a heavy chest when you are sitting, then it is time to see your doctor.

  1. Heartburn:

A lot of heart problems mimic the symptoms of indigestion. But as a rule, if you are over 40 and have some stomach pain, you should have your heart checked, just in case. Some heart problems even cause a feeling of nausea that wouldn’t go away. Having your heart checked will rule out any serious possibilities.

  1. Cold Sweat:

If you wake up in the middle of the night soaked in cold sweat, then you might have a heart problem. A lot of heart conditions cause late-night cold sweating that might even wake you up from your deep sleep. If you feel uncomfortable in the middle of the night and wake up to feel that you are sweating, this could be an early sign that you have a problem with your heart.

  1. Swollen Feet:

Your feet get swollen when your heart is unable to pump the blood properly towards your feet. If you usually have swollen feet, then your heart might be unable to do its job well. It could also be related to heart failure that makes the kidneys unable to clear the body of impurities. The salts will make your feet swollen and tender to touch.

  1. Feeling lightheaded:

There are a lot of heart conditions that can make you feel lightheaded or dizzy. But if you experience lightheadedness with some chest pain or discomfort, then you might have a heart problem. This happens because your heart is unable to pump the blood to your brain.

Your heart is the motor that will keep your body working. If you feel that you get tired easily, are unable to do the same activities you used to do, or experience unexplained fatigue, then it is time to have your heart checked. Most heart conditions are curable especially if they are detected in an early stage. A few lifestyle changes and following the doctor’s orders will save your life.
